FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S DESK
A Year of Consolidation, Growth, and Gratitude

2025 has been a pivotal year in our growth as an organisation, heralding a deeper footprint across Nigeria and entry into new markets in sub-Saharan Africa. It marked a year where we focused heavily on consolidation, even as we continued to break new boundaries. Most importantly, it marked yet another year where we are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to do impactful work.
Throughout the year, we invested significantly in testing new internal processes and systems, all geared toward resilience and sustainability ahead of important structural changes in the coming year.
We believe that systems must always be people-centred, and this belief drives our commitment to tailor practices that serve our people and optimise their potential. We believe in the changes we have kickstarted to further the growth and stability of this organisation, yet remain committed to learning and iterating.
Our sustained investments in technology throughout the decade continue to pay off. DECEEMA, our proprietary infrastructure as a service, has platformed over 5 million vaccination interactions. Our co-designed Health Insurance Management Information System has processed over 100,000 claims and healthcare interactions, nearing completion of its first $1 million in reimbursements.
Looking ahead, exciting solutions are emerging: Synapse, Africa's first public sector health information exchange at scale, is set to reshape the continuum of care by centring individuals in the custody of their health data. Sentinel, our end-to-end Emergency Medical Services system purpose-built for low-resource settings, is being positioned for scale to help reduce deaths from medical and surgical emergencies on the continent.
The future looks bright. As we reflect on our progress, we must thank all our collaborators and partners who have been at the heart of this journey. We especially thank the Governments of Nigeria, DR Congo, Cameroon, Lesotho, Kenya, Benin, Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Liberia for their trust. We thank the Gates Foundation, UNICEF, the World Bank, CEPI, ECOWAS, WAHO, and many other collaborators. Most importantly, we thank the communities, especially the women and children who make all our work matter.
We are thankful, and we cannot wait to get going again in 2026.
